I hold a PhD in clinical psychology and am licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Professional Counselor. I have over thirty years of experience in a wide variety of settings with children, adolescents and adults. However, I currently focus my practice on working with adults, both individually and as couples.
While cognitive behavioral modalities constitute my basic approach, I also incorporate many other interpersonal and self-help strategies including mindfulness techniques and Emotional Freedom Techniques (“acupuncture without needles”). Some of the problems I treat in individual psychotherapy include anxiety and stress, depression, grief and loss and the myriad challenges that come with any life transition.
When working with couples I include practical information on exactly what the research has to say on what makes relationships succeed in general. I then focus on the deeper and more personal factors that are helping or hindering a couple in finding their way to each other and to greater relationship satisfaction.
