Dana DeCarlo is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Kean University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University.
Dana is passionate about her experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, special education needs, teen issues, emotional regulation, life adjustments/ transitions, and interpersonal relationships. Using a strengths based, eclectic approach, Dana draws from several evidenced based modalities including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Psychodynamic Therapy while valuing that each client has their own unique qualities and needs.
Dana believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is key for effective treatment and a successful outcome. In addition to addressing life stressors and working towards therapeutic goals, Dana gets to know her clients for who they are, in various aspects of their lives, to build a strong rapport, utilize strengths and tailor treatment to each client individually. This not only creates a safe space, but an environment that allows the client to feel seen, and heard.
