Kayla Sheridan is licensed through the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University and a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University (New Brunswick), where she also received a Certificate in Aging and Health.
Kayla’s specialties include working with older adults, as well as with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, chronic illness/chronic pain, grief, end of life issues, and challenges related to life transitions. Kayla also has experience providing care for individuals facing depression, body image issues, substance abuse/co-occurring disorders, and LGBTQ+ related challenges.
Kayla is extremely passionate about providing culturally competent and LGBTQ+ affirming care, and aims to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for every one of her clients. In her clinical work, Kayla utilizes a strength-based, client-centered approach, along with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
