Judy is a Licensed Associate Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Her background includes working with young adults and adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders at inpatient and outpatient levels of care, as well as working with those experiencing relationship issues, work-related stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and post-traumatic stress.
Judy received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego, a Master’s degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities: Learning Disabilities from Teachers College Columbia University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from CUNY Brooklyn College,and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
Judy specializes in working with young adults and adults with addictions, as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship-, work-, and family- related stress, mood disorders, trauma, and adjustment difficulties.
Judy’s approach to counseling draws from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-focused (SF), and Narrative (NT) therapies. Judy also provides Christian counseling. Judy takes a non-judgmental, person-centered approach to therapy where client and therapist are in a collaborative relationship. Judy’s goal is to understand what brings the client to therapy, help identify/clarify the issues and goals, and help the client make the changes they want to make on the path to creating balance and wellness that leads to a healthy, happy life.
