Maxine Shannon is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University after having received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Thomas Edison University.
Maxine has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and group settings. She specializes in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and stress management. Maxine has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-focused treatment, and Structural Family Therapy.
Maxine’s work is based on the idea that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to success in therapy. The goal of her work is to use that relationship to help clients break free of unhealthy patterns they have developed due to their own past or the pain of early relationships.
